We run practical first aid courses, maximising time on practical sessions and scenarios which are based around outdoor venues, making them ideal for mountaineers, cavers and canoeists.
2 DAY REC FIRST AID COURSE
REC First Aid Course – This is a progressive 2 day first aid course that allows you build to on experience throughout the course. There are no tests or exams, only attendance to gain your first aid certificate. A fun and constructive course covering all major aspects of first aid.
Syllabus:
Vital signs, emergency actions, airway management, unconscious, drowning
CPR, rescue breathing
Bleeding, fractures, dislocation, shock
Casualty handling incl spinal injury
Heart attacks, angina, strokes
Hot & cold injuries
Triage, AED training
The 2 day first aid course is recognised by national governing bodies including Mountin Training, BCU and WCA, British Cycling, DofE instruction. No previous experience required to attend the course. The REC certificate is valid for 3 years.

VENUE
All course are at Arete Outdoor Centre. Self-catering accommodation available on site at £15 pppn.
