We will guide you down the best rivers that North Wales has to offer. Let us recommend venues, at any grade, so that you get the most out of your day.

• Maximise Your Time on the River

• Can be at any grade from II to V

• Knowledgeable & Experienced Guides

Knowing the local rivers like we do, it is easy to show you the best line down the rapids and know which rivers are in the best conditions. Safety won’t be compromised, enjoyment paramount.

Grade II to III Venues

The Afon Llugwy offers great sections of grade II with fund drops like Forestry Falls (III) or the lower section below Miners Bridge (III+). The Afon Glaslyn has long grade II sections with grade III through Beddgelert.  At grade III you can’t beat the Seiont, all the way to the sea. The upper Conwy is the other well know section with less known rivers such as the Dwyfor, Llyfni and Elwy.

Low water levels, then the River Dee and Afon Tryweryn provide plenty of grade II – III opportunities.

Grade IV – V Venues

There are stand alone drops at grade IV to practise on such as Cobdens and Bench Falls on the Llugwy, Bryn Bras on the Conwy or top drop on the Seiont. At grade IV then the Ogwen through Bethesda has to be the favourite. Middle part of the Conwy provides good IV with two drops of V, IV+ on the short but exciting Glaslyn Gorge and spate runs on the Nantgwryd live in the memory for a long time.

At grade V then there is drops like Ogwen Bank, Garth Farm Falls or various options down the Lledr (III, IV & V). The best, and most well know, grade V is the Fairy Glen with impressive lines, scenery and atmosphere.

What Experience is Needed?

It depends what grade or what rivers you wish to paddle.  Please contact us with your previous experience and we will let you know what is possible.

Course Costs & Dates

We run private courses for the River Guiding. Private courses can be run on dates that suit you and allow us to tailor the course content for each individual.

Private Bespoke Course:

Up to 4 people – £250 per day
Extra people at £50 per person. Best to have a maximum of 6 participants per instructor

Note the ideal ratio is 1:4 or less allowing us to run any river that matches your ability. Higher ratios are limited shorter white water sections or less continuous rivers. Extra instructors can be booked for bigger groups. Note our course costs include any river fees, unlike other providers.

We will arrange a convenient meeting point either near Bewts-y-Coed or use Arete Outdoor Centre as a base. Normally we meet at 0930 and return around 1630.

How to Book

Please either use our Contact Page or email info@sea2summit.net with you preferred dates, any course aspirations and group size. A 30% deposit will be required to confirm the course once we have agreed on exact dates.
