Snowdonia
is a region of North Wales and a National Park, of 838 square
miles (2170 square kilometres) in area. It was the first to
be designated of the three National Parks in Wales, in 1951.

By Car:
From South of Birmingham; After trying to
avoid the traffic of Birmingham, possibly by using the new
toll road, take the M54 past Telford then onto the A5. Drive
through Llangollen and by continuing on the same road you
will reach Capel Curig in the heart of the park. This is a
picturesque drive; shorter than continuing up past Wrexham
and onto the A55 and normaly faster too.
From North of Birmingham; From Chester, which is
reached by the M56 or A483 from Wrexham, take the A55 along
the coast. This is a quick dual carriageway taking you to
the edge of the park. For Capel Curig, turn off when you see
signs for Bangor and Llanberis and follow the A5 south.
