How much are private courses?
In general the larger your group the cheaper the price. At a
ratio of 1 instructor to 2 clients the cost is £70 per
person per day, where as at 1 to 5 the cost reduces to £32.50
per person per day. For more detailed costings please see Course
Prices.
What dates can I book on?
If given sufficient notice, a course can be put on any date
that suit. We are very flexible, please use the Contact
page to enquire. Last minute bookings can often be accommodated
too.
Can I book as an individual?
Yes, of course. There are two
options, either to book a private course at 1 to 1 ratio for
£135 per day. Alternatively you can book on a course for
a set date were you will be joined by others with similar ambitions.
Currently there are winter courses on offer please see Winter
Courses. Other course dates for 2007 will be posted in December.
What is included in the price?
A days personalised instruction
or guiding in your activity of choice. For all mountain and
climbing activities all the necessary technical equipment is
also included.
What is excluded from the price?
The cost of boat hire is extra
for all kayaking courses. Rock boots can be hired at £3
per day for climbing courses. You are required to provide your
own transport, unless special arrangements have been made, and
accommodation. However we are able to recommend places to stay
in the area, please see Accommodation
for more details.
What else
do I need to bring along for the day?
You need food and drink
for the day. All activities you will need warm clothing, such
as a fleece jacket, full water proofs (this being a cag if kayaking)
and a rucksack to carry it in. Appropriate footwear is needed
too, that being walking boots if on land or wet suit boots for
kayaking.
What time and where do you meet?
A typical day starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm. The meeting
point is chosen to be convenient for yourself. If possible this
will be at your chosen accommodation or conveniently on route
into the park.
I'm a little bit unsure, is it
all safe?
Although
its is impossible to completely eliminate risk, through our
experience and keeping to national guidelines we keep this risk
to a minimum. All our instructors are fully qualified in their
area of work, please see AMI
or BCU
for more information on outdoor qualifications.
Do I need personal insurance?
It is recommended that you take out your own personal insurance,
as with any sporting activity, while on a course. Please see
Snowcard
or British
Mountaineering Council for possible policies.
