  Winter Mountaineering Venues

Winter is a magical time of the year when the mountains in the UK are transformed under a white blanket of snow and ice.

Scotland is the prime location for winter climbing and mountaineering always offereing something from January to Easter. Being further North and having highest mountain ranges it provides the ideal combination for forming ice and attracting the snow. We base our courses from Fort William with Ben Nevis and Glen Coe being on our doorstep.

Snowdonia in North Wales is the other winter venue we regularly use. Unfortunately the conditions aren't as consistent as Scotland but it does have the benifit of short approaches yet still offering high quality days out. To add peace of mind if you book a Welsh course and there happens to be no winter conditions we will provide the course in Scotland instead on the same dates.
