Water Kayaking Courses |

Expert and patient coaching - we
will treat you as an individual,
developing your boat control and river running ability. Low ratio
instruction, on all our white water courses, enables us to concentrate
on the specific kayaking skills that you need to develop.
Based
in Snowdonia, North Wales, there are many local white water
rivers that provide ideal coaching venues to instruct at all
grades. Winter is an ideal time to kayak as the rivers are high
from increased rainfall. We are also fortunate to have mature
rivers so even in summer white water rapids can be found. See

We
specalise in providing personalised courses that are tailored
to your individual needs and desires, taking into account your
previous flat or white water experience, on dates that suit.
Below are a list of example courses on offer
that you can join as an individual or on
set dates. Private white water courses are from  just
£40 per person for 1:4 ratio. Our
courses now also include the new BCU 3 star white water award.

Introduction
to White Water |
|

|
|
|
This
course is for those that have tried kayaking before and now wish
to make the first steps into running white water rapids. Learn
how to handle the boat in moving water, keeping stability and
control. |

Reading
the river hydrology will be introduced and how to stay safe. Friendly
white water shoots will be used initially until your confidence
builds and you feel ready for more complex rapids. This
can be used as a White Water BCU 3 Star Training Course.

BCU
White Water 3 Star Assessment |
|
| |
|
|
|
This
is the new 3 star course as of the 1st September 2007. Gaining
the award demonstrates that you are a competent grade II paddler,
aware of river hazards and can competently look after yourself
as part of a group of like paddlers. |

The
course can either be done as a one day assessment, if you feel
you are at the standard, or alternatively a two day course. The
two day course provides an initial day of refining and refreshing
your white water skills.

Water Improvers |
|

|
|
|
If
you have experienced grade II/III rivers then you are now a white
water improver. We will improve your basic skills and progress
you to being comfortable running grade III white water, possibly
with drops of IV. |

Your
boat control will be refined and manoeuvres made more efficient.
This will be through learning to apply well timed and effective
strokes and reading the rapids correctly. White water safety will
be addressed and the logistics of running rivers.

to Playboating |

|
Learn
to surf waves, spin and tail squirt. This course is for
those that are comfortable at grade II/III water and now want
to learn how to play. |

Safe
waves and holes will be introduced, along with the necessary edge
techniques allowing you to happily control your boat while surfing.
Such skills can also be transferred to river running, enabling
